Description

Accompanied by the sound of the fountain in the background you would enjoy the food prepared in Pondok Laguna. Pondok Laguna specialized in Indonesian traditional cuisine. The “fried gureme” is outstanding, sayur asem or indonesian sour vegetable soup, barbequed fish and chicken is also among the best in town. Every order usually followed by warm rice placed in a banana leaves covered basket and small pallets of sambal. For drinks, you can always order a regular ice tea that is highly irregular.. The tea they use is very aromatic and nice. Freshly squeezed orange juice and coconut is also popular. Situated in the middle of Jakarta, this restaurant is very popular. It is always crowded even in weekdays. Just remember that during weekday, the 2nd floor, which has air, conditioned usually is not opened. So.. dress comfortably.

Tahu udang..hmm.hmmm
The food is great, especially the tahu udang. I personally hate udang but when it comes to tahu udang in pondok laguna I drop my anti-udang principle.    [12 Sep 2002 21:08:28]

Best in Jakarta

My favorite restaurant
The gurame goreng, fried chicken, kangkung, coconut water etc .. all of them are great and at reasonable price!! They also accept Amex card (which has the best fx rate) if you're foreign visitor to Jakarta.    [09 Dec 2006 08:52:01]
