Great place if you like fish.
Man Fridays is a lovely restaurant and the food is great. They offer a wide variety of dishes but I have to say their seafood is excellent, well they are ideally situated aren't they. If you like fish they have a wide variety and the crab is delicious. All said a lovely cosy restaurant with great service, but make sure you book in advance, and another thing, while the food is great, it is also a little on the expensive side. If you want to treat yourself or someone else I can definitely recommend it.    [04 Feb 2000 22:25:39]

Recommended Dishes: While I am not a duck eater myself it comes recommended and they also do a great steak but my favourite has to be the crab for starter followed by monkfish.

Top notch
We visited Man Friday's in Kinsale for the first time last week. Everything about our meal was perfect. To start I had stuffed mushrooms and my partner had the crab. Both were delicious, especially the crab. For the main course I had the hot seafood platter which consisted of prawns, fillet of salmon, fillet of turbet, crab claws, and mussells, while my partner had the rack of lamb, again, both were wonderful. Although the fish was delicious this restuarant offers a beautiful selection of other dishes also. The staff, although knackered in appearance, were very attentive and friendly. Also a fine selection of wine at reasonable prices topped of the evening nicely. Lovely views of the port in Kinsale also. If you are visiting Kinsale, do not miss this gem! Full marks across the board.    [17 Mar 2002 15:29:03]

Average food, cacky service
Visited Man Friday two weeks ago buoyed on the reviews I read here but was disappointed and more than a little annoyed.

The starters were fine; the goats cheese salad was a little over-adorned but you get to expect that of Kinsale(!). Main courses were fine. I had the hot Kinsale seafood platter which is a lot of (probably) nice seafood all cooked in a cheese sauce so it could be virtually anything, even Birds Eye boil-in-the-bag. To top it all, we asked if they could call a taxi for us to be told "I don't know if we've got a phone to call for one from". Durrr . . try using the phone you've been taking bookings on all evening old woman! Stupidly I left a tip and have been kicking myself about it since. Avoid at all costs and go to Max's instead - same money, better food, decent service.    [16 Oct 2002 17:22:31]

Will Always Be Our Favorite!
My husband travels a lot for business, and I get to go with him now and then. This is and will most likely always be our favorite place to eat anywhere! They have a very nice selection on their menu, and everything we have tried is absolutely wonderful! Their staff is friendly, and the view of the harbor is beautiful! You get a wonderful view of the sunset from one of their rooms! The other rooms are romantic with candle lit tables! It is the first place we eat dinner when we go to Kinsale, and the last place we eat before we come home!    [27 May 2003 19:07:44]
