Osteria da Afro
I have been to Osteria da Afro with some friends because this restaurant had been recommendend in a guide for italian restaurants. I often go to Italy and I think I know something about good food, especially in Friuli. The dishes at Da Afro were for all of us a great shock. The pasta was cooked much too long and not al dente at all. The sugo was watered without any taste. The first time in Italy I got a salad just prepared with oil and vinegar. The mixed (not fresh tasting) salad consisted only of green salad with tomatoes. The meat was a real disaster. It was nearly cold and difficult to chew. No herbs, no taste, no creativity. All in all, a meal you get in every hospital. All of my - also Italian - friends had the same opinion. I was really angry to spend so much money for food like this.    [19 Aug 2005 03:56:17]

Osteria da Afro: Una cucina molto buona
I've known the restaurant Osteria da Afro for several years and it's always a great pleasure to enjoy the fine dishes and the great wines there. Going to the restaurant Osteria da Afro is always a very good banquet for all of our four family members. What I like most is that chef Dario uses local (from Friuli), seasonal produce and meat and makes a marvelous dinner out of it. Each time we go to the Osteria da Afro, I am surprised by the very good Friuli wines that are recommended by Dario.
