Description

It it located in a small local street between the lake and the main road connecting Iseo to Pisogne and Darfo. From Iseo take the old statal road to the northern part of the lake (direction Sale Maresiano, Pisogne or Darfo). Do not take the new express road with tunnels but the old one laying near the lake. A couple of kilometres after leaving the city of Iseo, just after you enter the village of Pilzone turn left just before the main part of Pisogne. This road bend left back toward Iseo and then turn right crossing the railways. Go ahead in the narrow road (be careful), at the first fork go ahead and turn left at the second fork (the one with the sign "Lorries prohibited" in the road ahead). The restaurant is about 50-100 m on the right and his parking is on the right next the restaurant.

Nice but busy
The restaurant made a very (Over)crowded impression when we visited there on a normal monday evening. About 100 people (mostly outside in the garden) were talking very loud Italian style.
After a long wait, a charming waittress (I have never seen somebody work as hard as her) gave us the menu and ask us what we would like to drink. As she did not speak English and the menu is only in Italian, we had a lot of difficulty to find a right meal. The drinks were brought instantly.
The food we tried was good. We started things off with pasta. Well made (with a good 'bite') and nice sauce on top of it.
The salad we ordered was lovely, but too big for our tastes.
Most people who come here come for a Pizza, but we ordered three big steaks and that was not a mistake. The food is really very good, although there is nothing served with the meat, so you should not forget to ask for Patates Frites or salad yourself.
We drank a lovely wine from the local area with it. There is a wide variety of wines you can choose from, but the house wine is said to be good as well.
The dessert was lovely, but a bit common. Great ice cream and nice cake.
All in all, it was a good experience and it was nice to sit among so many Italian people from the village and the campsite near the restaurant. No other tourists from other countries to be seen. That is a plus. All in all, not bad at all!    [27 Aug 2006 04:05:06]
