Creative Piedmontese cuisine from the Bologna family, who also make - and serve - their own wines. Not exclusively, of course - their cellar includes an extensive selection of local whites and reds. The restaurant offers a fixed menu that changes daily, where the only choices are between secondi - main courses. Among the primi, look out for the locally-renowned home-made ravioli.

The 'Bologna' is located in a very unimposing building directly on the main road leading north out of Rochetta Tanaro. It's very easy to miss, but if you reach the bridge over the river Tanaro, you've already missed it. The rather forbidding wrought-iron gate and the imposing carved wooden door that face the road give few clues to the warm, rustic-elegant ambience within.
