Good Restaurant

Worst service I have ever had anywhere
We arrived at 4:30 having a reservation at 5:00. Upon arrival, there was nobody at the greeting stand. So, after 15 minutes of waiting, we sought out an employee who told us to continue waiting. Another 15 minutes passed and we talked with the service manager who told us to sit at a 4 person waiting table and they would have a table for us shortly. At 5:15, we talked with the service manager about not being seated even though we had a reservation. He said to wait a couple of minutes, he would bring us some bread and water and would have a table ready within 5 minutes. Twenty (20) minutes later, we went and found the actual manager who told us he was sorry about the mix-up and would have us a table in 2 minutes. Fifteen more minutes passed and we went into the dining room and sat at a dirty, empty table. After sitting there for fifteen MORE minutes, my wife got up, went into the waiter's area and requested a cloth to clean our table. She brought the cloth to me and I began to clean the table. At this point, our waiter, who had walked past us several times in the 20 or so minutes we had been sitting there came up and tried to take the cleaning rag from me. He then finally took our order, at 6:15, an hour and fifteem minutes after our reservation. We ordered a grouping of salads as well as grilled meat which is their specialty. They brought the salads 20 minutes later and we finally began to eat. At 7:00, our waiter came to us and told us that they had run out of the meat that we had ordered. So, 45 minutes after ordering, we are informed that they don't have what we ordered. Frustrated, we ask for the check. When it is brought to us, several items that we didn't order are on it. I finally had enough and called the manager to our table again. I recounted the whole story to him and his answer was, "I am sorry, we were busy." Of course, he wasn't too busy to sit for a full hour with friends of his who came in and sat at a table near ours and who got their food before us, even though they arrived 20+ minutes after us. I then asked him if he expected us to return to his restaurant after an experience like this. His answer, "No, I don't." Nothing could have ended the night more appropriately. We paid for what we ate, though later I discovered that when they removed the extra items from the bill, they failed to remove the service charge and tax associated with those items, and left the restaurant, NEVER to return.    [17 Oct 2007 05:40:56]
