A seriously brilliant experience
I've just realised I have the opportunity to review this restaurant although it is now 2 months since I was able to eat there. The restaurant is an enomous asset to Malindi - it is a very Kenyan experience indeed with all local cuisine and of course fish fresh from the Indian Ocean. Service is courteous and friendly. The people who eat there include tourists from all over the world and multi-ethnic Kenyans. It has nothing to do with the Italians which is refreshing as most of Malindi is run by Italians or cheap British packagae hol. companies.
It is very comfortable indeed with ceiling fans and plenty of ventilation but it is also atmospheric, the ocean being literally a few yards from the other side of the street.
I can't remember what I ate I'm afraid as it is so long ago but the dishes are definitely special. I have a photo of a friend tucking into one of the straters which is really quite fascinating as seafood goes. If you don't eat out anywhere else in Malindi make sure you make this the one restaurant you go to.    [18 Oct 2006 08:19:51]
