There seems to be a million waiters inside the Stavrose, and maybe it is essential judging by the number of hungry guests at lunchtime. Locally it is very popular so I advise going early or booking to ensure a table. The chicken tikka is of a high quality, which says something in a city that produces hundreds of kilos a day of chicken tikka. Businesses often use the Stavrose for its efficient take-away service, and travellers are often seen in the nearby Jeevanjee Gardens eating Stavrose food. It is possible to get wine here but not beer to accompany your meal

A cool retreat from the race of the rest of the town yet right in the centre, once you climb up to the restaurant, you can relax and enjoy a quiet meal before you set out again to discover some more of Nairobi!    [05 Jan 2004 09:14:21]
