I wonder if Dave's Deli plan to open a branch here in Banting, Selangor as there is no deli like yours here. I think the food is great, especially desserts (its much tastier than the other restaurants here).    [24 Apr 2003 03:35:52]

Terrible service!
I used to think Dave's Deli is great, esp being Malaysian. However, one staff did all the damage. I was at the Mine's Dave's Deli, and as usual, I ordered my plain lassi. But this time, the lassi was sour and tasted like puke, so I kindly mentioned to the staff. 5 minutes passed nobody came back. I motioned this staff to come over again, and all he said was that that's what lassi tastes like. I was pretty shocked as it was written outside that any dissatisfaction with the food will be given a replacement. But this staff stubbornly said I was wrong and he's right as he's tasted it in the kitchen. I went on to say that after so many times eating here, I should know what a plain lassi tastes like, but he continued to argue and stood there and gave a sneering look. Boy what kind of service did Dave's Deli train their staff to give? Guess what, one bad service is enought to ruin my mood and the food. I will continue to tell everyone how terrible Dave's Deli is. Quality Control
My family and I went to Dave's Deli at Atria last Saturday 21/6/03.

My wife had ordered a tuna sandwich. When she got the sandwich, it really smell bad. When she confronted the staff, she was told that the tuna paste was from the night before. I don't know how long the tuna sat in the fridge or, for that matter, how many days the tuna paste had been exposed on the counter. All I know is that the staff was not very customer oriented at all!

I am NOT patronising Dave's Deli anymore.

For those who still partronising this place, beware of the food's quality - smell the food before eating it! Also, be prepared to tolerate the un-customer oriented staff.

I am suprised that this Deli won an award on Cleanliness - must have been years ago!

At least all these disn't happen to me at MidValley.
I go to Dave's Deli Mid Valley ALMOST every day and the staff there is polite and helpful. They would try the best to serve their customer. They would spend time explaining the menu to me. Today I ordered an Ice Cappucino and found it too sweet for me. So I requested them to make it less sweet and they change it without charging me anything.    [31 Jan 2005 11:00:49]

Fond memories...
I have nothing but very fond memories of my times eating at Dave's Deli in the Sunway Pyramid back in 2000... I was a teacher at Sunway College back then, living in Bandar Sunway, and spent many many an evening (and weekend!) walking around the beautiful airconditioned marbled halls of the Pyramid. I ate at Dave's on a regular basis, usually ordering their Shepherd's Pie. The food was always good and the service was always very polite. I loved sitting there, gazing fondly at the nostalgic advertisements from long ago... My only criticism was the cost of the food, which was quite high by Malaysian standards.

I don't dispute the negative experiences of some of the reviewers above, but remember that Dave's is a franchise so how good it is ultimately depends on who the owner is! Some franchise owners take great care in screening and training their employees and others unfortunately don't. Putting it another way, not all Dave's are equal, so one might have terrible service and another great service (like the one at the Pyramid). It's like the 7-Eleven's here in Hong Kong (where I now live). Some of the 7-Eleven employees are extremely polite and others are rude little morons that treat you like rubbish if you're a foreigner.

If you've had a bad experience at Dave's then tell the management - remember that they get a percentage of the profits from the franchise so the last thing they want is an unsatisfied customer! And that means you can be sure that they'll take your complaint seriously, even if their employees don't!    [13 May 2007 04:57:38]

Dave's Deli Dissappears
How strange! Could not find Dave's Deli within Federal Territories.
I've been to Bangsar Shopping Center - nope.
Then, Mid-Valley, the info counter there says Dave's Deli moved since 2005.
Next, i go Sunway Pyramid. Not there anymore.

Dave's Deli + Rat..
I went to 1 Utama on Thursday last week, and the food are superb until....an uninvited guest came in while my friend & I just finishing our dinner. A small rat come out from nowhere and try to climb the staff's mop bucket!! The staff did not notice it until both of us told her there is a rat trying to climb the bucket. When the staff tried to hit it, it ran direct to our table. WE WERE SHOCKED! A rat in Dave's Deli! I swear I'll never go into that Dave's Deli again! No wonder there's not many people in that Dave's Deli...

The staff were lucky that we did not vomit inside the restaurant.. A rat at a warung tepi jalan is acceptable.. but in Dave's Deli? ??
