Not Impressed
We were on holiday in KL and were recommended this restaurant. The food was average and the service was very poor, which was unlike any of the other restaurants that we had been to there. After waiting 10 minutes to be seated we had to wait a further 30 minutes to come and take our order for drinks and then we had to wait another 10 minutes for the waiter to call another waiter to serve us. Then after our starter had come and we were finished it took them 25 minutes to take our dishes. The waiters were so rude, they saw that we had finished but refrained from taking away our plates. Not a very good experience at a restaurant that has won awards; I would never recommend this restaurant to anybody!    [30 Sep 2004 06:45:24]

I took 10 people to this restauarant on recommendation, and with a 10% discount voucher. The food was good, with subtle tastes, and the setting and ambience were excellent, however the waiter wanted us to have what he thought was easiest for the restaurant rather than what we wanted. Getting drinks was a nightmare, took ages, and the staff were offhand. Service was slow but as we were a large group that was understandable. Finally the head waiter refused to accept the 10% discount voucher, which was 150 ringitts (about £22.00.)    [16 Oct 2004 08:23:53]

Terrible
Went there with a group of 5... Was impressed with the ambience and setting... Waiter serving us was courteous, explaining what each dish was and recommending dishes/favourites... Up until we declined to take one of his recommendations... His manner changed and kept trying to pursuade us that our choices were 'ordinary' and to instead choose what he recommended, which happened to be one of the most expensive dishes on the menu...
Service was virtually non-existent as waiters seemed to disappear from sight as soon as they finished serving our dishes...
Prices were exorbitant and honestly not quite worth what we ate...Food is nothing to shout about...
Overall, not a fan... how they could possibly win awards year after year is beyond me... Not recommended at all... unless ambience is all you care about...    [02 Jan 2006 10:55:56]

I saw them in website and magazines that they are so great in everything. But, to be frank, their restaurants is really a nightmare, not only Tamarind Hill but Tamarind Springs too. The waiter tricked us too..
Ambience is nice but we were made to order what seems to be easier for them to make or has already been prepared offhand.

Food is not bad, my girlfriend seems to like the Thai soup & the fish

Overall service is bad & too pricey for Thai food. We were also bugged by mosquitoes..

DROP the AWARD
I was there moment ago! They didn't inform on dress code matters, and I got caught on shorts and slippers! They insist I back home to change or leave! I was so humiliated and demand for explanation. Later, they found out that during reservation, they did not inform on the dress code! Who's fault? The Assistant Manager said that "We will allow you for this time, but not in future" WTF! Who's fault is this? Sigh...

The food? Is totally sucks! All taste the same! Price is expensive and totally not worth of money! I felt cheated on the price I paid which is contribution to the environment. NO NO

There is few more restriction, No PHOTOGRAPH! NO SMOKING even though is an open air concept with FAN! Talking about the ceiling fan! It really sucks and I don't felt any wind blowing from it!
