Excellent Food and Service Dining at Las Brujas de Cachiche was a real delight. From the moment we walked through the door the staff was completely focused on our dining experience, making sure to answer any questions that we had and providing us with anything that we needed. And the food? Spectacular. You will not be disappointed if you dine here.
Many people, ourselves included, are drawn to this restaurant for the large selection of traditional Peruvian dishes available on the buffet. I made sure to sample the vast majority of the hot buffet items, and I did not find one that I thought was sub-par. All of these items were piping hot and all had wonderful flavors. One of my two favorite dishes, which are listed under the "Recommended Dishes" on this review, was the Aji de Gallina. Simply stated, it tasted great! In fact, I had second and third helpings of this dish. I also sampled several other dishes from the roasted pork to a variety of rice and bean dishes and enjoyed every one of them.
There was also a line of cold items available. This set-up consisted of several vegetables, fruits, and cheeses, along with a chef who was preparing fresh, made-to-order ceviche. All of the vegetables and fruits were incredibly fresh and the ceviche was one of the better ones that I have eaten in Lima. Although I only visited the cold item buffet once, I enjoyed every dish/item that I sampled from it.
The only complaint that I have about this restaurant is the lack of items available for dessert. And even then, out of the items that we tried, I had eaten much better desserts at other restaurants in Lima. The overwhelming conclusion that I came to about their desserts was that they figured if they added enough sugar to anything, then people would eat it. But, I just found many of the items to be too sweet to enjoy. That is, and always will be, a matter of personal preference, though. I am sure that many people enjoy their desserts thoroughly.
Overall, though, I would highly recommend going to Las Brujas de Cachiche. There are other buffets in Lima that are cheaper (and offer better value), but the food here is excellent also, and the service and atmosphere cannot be beat. I believe that for these factors the price difference is worth it. Once again, if you chose to dine here, I don't believe that you will be disappointed.
Enjoy! []
