The name of the venue sounds like a Soviet-era food joint for the party / KGB elite. The theme matches - a paper posted at the entrance is not a business license, but a blank search permit issued to a Che-Ka operative.

Spetsbuffet occupies a relatively small hall in the basement with Soviet memorabilia throughout. The menu items make puns on language of the communist past.

The place is affordable, and the crowd is therefore mixed - from parents with kids to students.
