Best Seafood Restaurant in Singapore This is simply one of the best Seafood Restaurants in Singapore, if not in the region. It is famous for its Crab, many version of it but the best is the Curry Powder Crab with Fried Shrimps. [02 May 2004 22:24:27]

A Pleasant Dinner After being promptly seated at 7:30PM on a wednesday without a reservation, our food began to arrive soon after ordering. Sitting under the canopy during a downpour was a loud experience, but we remained dry. The Chilli Crab was impeccably fresh, and drowned in a mildly spicy and thick sauce. This version has no sweetness, and a bit of fermented shrimp paste in the sauce gives it the usual shrimp-paste-taste (which I actually don't like very much). I much prefer the Jumbo Seafood version, which is sweeter and skips the shrimp paste. An order of "Prawns with Cereal" was delicious and interesting. Crispy, deep-fried prawns are served with a sweet mixture of fried oatmeal (or similar cereal). Other dishes were equally delicious. [15 Jul 2004 02:51:18]

No Signboard Seafood 10 of us ate at East Coast Parkway. The ambience was nice and cosy renovated. Some of the staff has poor understanding of what we want as they are not Singaporean. After telling them what we want they left and did not came back to us. The Chilli crab does not even has any chilli taste at all despite of the adv that it serves the best in Singapore. I found the pricing too expensive, the bean paste style steamed fish is very normal and nothing special and it cost $59.00 and it is not worth going back again. For your info the price of water melon juice cost $9.00 it is crazy and it has lots of ice. If they want customers to go back again they should improve on their dishes and especially the pricing. I for one will not pay for it. [23 Aug 2005 00:32:33]

Alternative to Jumbo My family decided to give this famous seafood restaurant a try on boxing day. We drove to the nearest outlet at Geylang. Although we waited for 45 mins (it was public holidays) for our food to arrive, it was worth the wait.
We ordered chilli crabs and fried cereal prawns among other small dishes. I must say that their cereal prawns dish is the best I've tasted so far. The cereal (oats actually) was very crispy and fragrant and the prawns were very fresh. The crab meat was very fresh too. 2 things bothered me a bit in the chilli crab dish were 1) the sauce has more shrimpy flavour than the characteristic sweet chilli taste and 2) plain white bread was served rather than fried 'man tou'. i still prefer Jumbo's recipe for chilli crabs.
The service provided by the waitors and waitresses was tip top. If you drive, you'd love the free valet service provided by this restaurant. No need to fret over finding parking space. There was also a complimentary desert dish for guests. We had a cold dish of jelly with soursop. The restaurant accepts credit cards - another convenience for diners. [26 Dec 2005 10:04:09]

Do not eat there! The manager and his boss at "No SignBoard" seafood restaurant at Geylang are liars. Dont eat there, else you will get cheated.
I ordered a 1.3 kg crab. When it arrived, a claw was missing, and I asked the waitress how much it weights, She said around 800g. I told her I ordered a 1.3 kg crab. She said she will check. Her manager came out and told me that it is 1.3 kg. I said no way, as I am familiar with how big a 1.3 kg crab is. He said that this is normal. I asked what happened to the missing claw. He replied that they probably smashed it to bits! His boss came out after that and sang the same tune. I asked what happened to the meat in that claw. They did not have a respond. They were rude, and took the take it or leave it attitude. I rejected the dish. And of course I did not want to taste their dessert thereafter. In case they spit into it.
I would caution anyone from eating there. Do not patronise them as they are not honest. [07 Dec 2006 09:32:16]

They charged me for extras that I never ordered Aside from being overpriced compared to every other restaurant in the area, they charged me for peanuts, vegetables, and cold untoasted slices of bread that I did not order. Food quality was good but I didn't appreciate having to pay for something that I never ordered! [10 Jul 2007 11:44:45]
