Serviceable buffet My experience with Stonebreakers is limited to breakfast, where the hot and cold selections are generous but probably don't overwhelm the natives.
For conventioneers coming from outside South Africa, Stonebreakers offers at least some interesting novelties, such as salami, baked beans, fried tomatoes, and mango juice. The custom-made omelets are fine; the beans are served lukewarm; and the fruit selections look suspiciously as if they started in a can. Meat eaters would be wise to ask for a large serving of the ham, which is salty, rich, and very satisfying.
This is a one-pass, pay as you take your tray to your table set-up, which may prove frustrating for breakfasters with a strong coffee-drinking habit. But the coffee isn't all that great: make the trek to the waterfront malls and get yourself an espresso.
The decor of the dining room is strictly institutional, but the view of Table Mountain is outstanding. []
