A must in Trinidad One of the most delightful restaurants serving Trinidadian food. In a restored old, house, great ambiance-done up like a (dream)Trini grandmother's house of old. The idea is that you've gone to lunch at her house. Original art always changing, charming waitresses, the owners local celebrity personalities in their own right. [30 Jan 2002 18:38:17]

Highlight of Trinidad This is one restaurant you want to try. We had a wonderful time and fantastic food when we visited. We great local fair that was served by beautiful island girls garbed in colorful wrapped skirts with flowers in their hair. The service was grand and we had great explanations of what we were eating as most of it was new to us. My husband had flying fish and I had the stuffed melangine (eggplant). We had plantains, green bananas and other wonderful veggies. And to finish the meal we had paw paw crumble. Come to find out it was a papaya crumble--but unlike any you've ever had. The fresh papaya makes such a difference. It is so sweet and the flavor intoxicating. Please go--it was the highlight of our stay in Trinidad. [27 May 2003 19:27:28]

Auld Acquaintance definitely not to be forgot!! I returned to this old favourite after an absence of seven years, and am thrilled to report that it's better than I remember. I was fantasizing about the salt fish fritters only a few days ago. Roses and Allyson..in the words of the great philosopher Arnold Schwartzenneger, "I'll be back!" [21 Jun 2005 09:33:55]
