Great setting, good food, service poor Checked out out Coco Bistro during daytime. Great setting, menu. Made reservation for evening same day. The setting is incredible. Outdoors, towering coconut palms. Menu varied and interesting. Big problem. We were stuck with the worst sevice person you could imagine. She did not know the menu. Did not speak English (this is an English speaking island). Was only interested in pushing drinks with alcohol. Very abrupt manner to the point of rudeness. We ordered the local fresh snapper.
Waitress left with our order. Shortly thereafter we could hear the owner or chef yelling at the employees. Really enjoyable!! Did we not order enough alcohal? Food arrived quite promptly. Moderate size portion, well prepared and flavourable. Creme caramel was good as well. Asked for bill. Arrived with 10% service charge included at $94.00 US. Not cheap for two with only one Turks Head beer. Food was good, paid cash & left 5x$20 bills.Generous given the poor service person. Departed to parking lot only to be chased by service person saying I did not leave enough money. Other guests staring at me. I asked for the folder to count the money. Surprise 5x$20 bills!! Much Better Coco Bistro was taken over by new management last year, same beautiful setting but with much better food and service. [09 Aug 2007 17:43:38]
