Not Your Average Mexican This is a Mexican restaurant so far removed from the usual that you’d want to go again. Friendly staff, nice ambience and good decoration. The food is far removed from the greasy slop of some other Mexicans we’ve been in and comes in very generously-sized portions. Starters include fried mushrooms on toast in a garlicy-tomato sauce, nicely-cooked calimari, the usual nachos and wonderful garlic bread.
Mains in the set meal are a divine chicken in a peanut and lime sauce (I know how it sounds but it’s really delicious) and, strangely, more chicken; sizzling this time with a selection of great dips and (the only complaint that applied to all the food) too many onions. [27 Apr 2000 13:44:28]
