Eastern Eye Restaurant - As grand as its decor? Firstly, let it be known that I am a very big fan of Indian food, and Indian restaurants are no exception.
I visited Bath with a group of friends for the weekend. Beautiful city, but was the food as good?
I had read about the Eastern Eye in many brochures I had picked up, and seeing all the awards, great reviews and publications it had recieved I decided to give it a try.
First impressions? Decieving. The decor is far far more impressive than I expected, based on the second floor of a building I didnt see it until I walked right in. The interior was magnificent, a massive intricate georgian structure with grand glass domes in the ceiling that stood at least 20 feet high!
After a drink at the lounge, my table was ready. I sat, was given the menu, which by the way is far better than the average. (it has detailed descriptions along with colour coded descriptions on a number of ingredients) In the end we ended up ordering a number of lamb and Chicken dishes, such as Chicken Mon Passand, Lamb Garlic Chilli Mossalla (which I had never seen on an indian menu before) and so on. The food arrived promptly, and it was just as good as the rest of the package. Great.
We thoroughly enjoyed it, and recommend it to anyone. A perfect ending to an already wonderful visit to Bath. [04 Mar 2003 15:01:34]

Beautiful Decor & Delicious Food Nice food, plenty of choice. The restaurant is beautiful and the waiters very helpful. Had Onion Bhaji and Chicken Korma which were delicious. The Eastern Eye also do a very reasonable lunch time offer. [27 Oct 2004 08:40:18]

The Food is Fine, Forget About The Rest. Attracted by the fine reviews i booked a table for three on a family dinner. The food was excellent, I must admit. But the rest was a desaster. The dining area was so poorly lit, I was barely able to make out the others on the table. The service was unattentive, slow and lacking everything. The starters were served even befor we had our drinks. The waiter was not able to hand out a receipt. [27 Sep 2006 07:59:37]
