Owner's Description Bistro 38 opened in April 2006 and has gone from strength to strength but no wonder when their owners, Tom and Tracey believe that it’s your whole visit that matters from the greeting on arrival, the efficiency of service, the quality and ingredients of the food, to the fond farewell when you leave. Weather you sat in the restaurant or have been in a rush & taken advantage of their take-away menu. Bistro 38 is not complacent with just the success of the restaurant they also have had great success with their outside catering business and with bookings rolling in for next year, the next 12 months look extremely exciting and busy for the owners Tom & Tracey.
The food is made to order with only the freshest produce being used. No packet foods or microwaves exist in this establishment.
Tom & Tracey have invested a great deal of time, effort and imagination when writing their menu to ensure that the quality of ingredients can be delivered daily. Fish delivered when ever they need it, fresh vegetables delivered to the door coming up trumps with their meat supplier, just across from Bistro 38 is the traditional family butchers Kerswell & sons; they supply Bistro 38 with all their meat & poultry.
Bistro 38 have sourced their own coffee, slightly further a field than normal. They have set up a great rapour with their supplier the Bridge Coffee Company in Shrewsbury. As of August 1st 2006 they will be selling their own coffee "blend 38" for people to enjoy at home too.
Both Tom & Tracey have worked in catering all their lives & have always been great believers that traditional British food is on the decline and feel that not enough British food based restaurants are able to survive with more people opting to go for different cuisines from around the world. There menu is traditional, exciting, quirkey and simply satisfying for everyone! 90% of the ingredients in the food is British produce, but don’t be put off by thinking its just British food and go there expecting fish & chips or steak & kidney pie, bistro 38 cater for everyone with European & Asian cuisine on the menu as well. With larger companies taking over in the city centre, Bistro 38 is an oasis in the suburbs they are open Tuesday – Saturday, 8am - 5pm.
Sundays are a great day with more and more people having such an on the go life style less of us are have the time to spend preparing the traditional Sunday roast at home. Well why not try the hassle free approach go to bistro 38 take your own wine, enjoy traditional food fuss free with no washing up weather its with the whole family, friends or just on your own. But be warned booking is essential as they fill up very quickly. []
