Terrible My girlfriend and I chose to eat at Howards. We regularly eat out at good places and enjoy food.
We were extremely disappointed when ordering scallops to start with; we had to wait 45 minutes before it arrived, only to discover they were cold.
For our main, We both ordered the steak. My girlfriend requested that her steak be blue. The cost of this steak dish was £20. The steak arrived cooked medium; we raised this with the waitress who returned the steak and apologised. Two minutes later she returned with a new steak that was freezing cold in the centre.
I raised my disappointment with the waitress who took me into the kitchen, were the head chef began to rip open the steak saying that it was cooked blue. He said this in a very aggressive manner; I was amazed that I was being spoken to in this way.
I returned to table shocked and not feeling hungry after being put off my food.
The table of six next to us also noticed that we were unhappy with our food, they said that they were equally disappointed with the food.
We wrote and complained to Howards and received a cocky arrogant response from the manager who told us that he didn’t want our custom and we do not keep him in business.
I would never step into this restaurant ever again, the meal, service and after service was terrible.
Stay away! [29 Oct 2006 05:31:50]
