Good Food in an Unusual Setting I choose the chicken with black pepper and mixed veg. When it arrived looked great, a large cut of meat resting on top of the vegetables. The portion size was about perfect, I didn't feel too full at the end of the meal and the chicken was succulent and delicious.
For dessert I had a lovely slice of Mud Pie with fruit coulis and chocolate shavings. [12 Apr 2001 10:04:16]

Awful service, obnoxious staff Excrutiatingly slow service. Incompetent staff who are downright rude to their customers. Pretentiously labelled food is okay - but certainly not worth the grief. Go elsewhere. [27 Feb 2006 07:36:02]

Nihon no ! My wife took a guest to the Mud Dock Cafe as she had read in a guide book that it was worth a visit. The food they were given was quite a distance from the description on the menu board (for a start it didn't say stale French bread) and they were hurried from their table by the waitress when they had finished their meal, though other customers were left alone. As they are both Japanese, the exceptional treatment they received left them feeling alienated and upset. I contacted the manager by email who showed an interest and asked for a copy of the receipt. Luckily we had kept it and sent him the details. I think this must have surprised him as I haven't heard a thing since - thank you for your time. Now I have checked other reviews I can see why; he must be quite busy. How do places like this get into guide books I wonder? [21 Jul 2007 05:10:12]
