Nice
I very much enjoyed eating at Bella Pasta in Cambridge. The food is great, and it is at the site of an old water mill, which is pleasant, as it is on the river.    [11 Feb 2001 14:53:10]

Fantastic Meal in Fantastic Surroundings
My friends and I went to Bella Italia at the watermill in Cambridge and we were so impressed we have recommended it to everyone we know! The food was top class and if it weren't for our full tummies, we'd have had more of it. Huge wine menu with a full bar so we were very happy with our liquors and the staff new all about their wines, which is rare nowadays. They recommended the perfect wine for our meal and it was! The restaurant is extremely relaxing with the sound and view of crashing water beneath your feet and the restaurant was immaculately clean and very friendly with a true Italian feel to it.

We love this place and have taken everyone we know there and will keep going, we are told that the menu changes soon so we can't wait! We seriously recommend their food, in all the Italian restaurants we have been to this is by far the best we have ever been to, hats off to the chefs and all the staff, they really must work so hard thank you! And it is so refreshing that the managers their take genuine time to talk to their customers. We found Miles fantastic as was Klowdia.

fantastic place, fantastic food, fantastic staff. Highly recommended!    [07 Apr 2005 23:31:20]

Hmm! Not so Good Service
Well, I am talking about the Bella Italia branch close to Cherry Hinton Road. I had been to this resturant last Sunday and had ordered breakfast (panini with mushrooms, egg and tomato). Seems like a simple dish to me. Well after half an hour of waiting what I got was, what looked like croissant with cheese spread and jam . I realised this after having a bite of the so called panini and asked the waitress to get me what I had asked for. After another 15 mins of waiting I got the panini..but now with bacon and tomato. Now the first time could have been a mistake repeating it a second time is plain absurdity.

This whole ordeal lasted for an hour during which time I managed to have only Cranberry juice and some sweet dish, while my stomach was really starting to burn. I paid for what I had consumed and rushed off to the Subway near by, which served me a chicken teriaki sandwich in less than 2 minutes. So after this experience I would surely caution my friends from going to this particular resturant. So if any of you are in mind for Italian head to some other restuarant or better still cook at home.

Well on the positive side they do have an out door seating which is kinda good    [18 Jul 2005 10:55:30]

Overpriced, Poor Quality Chain Restaurant
I've just returned from a so-called meal at Bella Italia. The first thing you notice is the phony Italian greetings from staff who demonstrated the three words they know in Italian.

My wife ordered a mushroom and ham pizza plus mozzarella cheese at £1 extra. I order a lasagne. The so-called pizza had a pancake base - honest! There were six slices of mushroom plus three small pieces of cheap ham. My lasagne was almost a soup and needed a spoon to eat. I could identify no meat and any lasagne pasta was simply part of the general mush.

We told the waiter this - and zero response. This is a restaurant that depends on passing trade from visitors to Cambridge. Be warned. I live in Cambridge and have to say you'd get a better Italian experience in a supermarket cafe.    [16 Sep 2006 10:52:04]
