Angus Steak Bar
I went for the T bone steak and got a very large helping with plenty of salad too. The meat was done correctly to order and was accompanied with a good selection of sauces/mustards. The vegetables were slightly overdone and softer than some folk would have liked.
I visited in the early evening and found the tables packed out. I expected a wait of about 30 minutes and was not disappointed. The place was quite noisy, so not a place for intimate conversation.    [02 Dec 1999 21:31:02]

Very poor performance
I was served Chateaubriand with green beans that had not been drained so the water from the beans contaminated the beef - also the sauteed potatoes were seriously overcooked. When I asked to speak with the Duty Manager I was told none was available. When I commented that the potatoes were overcooked I was insulted with the remark "This is not KFC, you know!" No - nor is it Le Manoir, either. I have written to the MD but have had no acknowledgement so my next step will be to pursue the credit card company.    [16 Jan 2001 13:08:01]

Disappointment
We took our guest to Angus Steak house. She was from Holland and came for a day to London. The food, was reasonable, we ordered salads which looked the worst salad to expect in the hearth of London.

And the worst to come, we didnt touch the salad, luckily, a green caterpillar leapt out of it, we first looked to our guest's face, she didn't notice, then my son covered it with a napkin, and get rid of it. It looked quite fit. If I didn't have a guest, I would take it to the Manager.

We paid 120£ for 6 people, 6 plates of food, two beers, 1 fanta and three colas plus a green caterpilllar.

All very bad, disgusting, no more Angus Steak House. What would happen if we found a half caterpillar?

Still, the staff was good, but the Chef needs reviewing...    [05 Nov 2002 07:59:31]

Not Frozen Food-- Frozen Resaurant
My wife and I in search of a quick meal before going to the Palace theatre on 9th Dec, went into the Steak house nearest the theatre on the same side of the road.It was a chilly night so we sat down with our coats on initially while we ordered. We hadn't realised at this stage that on this, the coldest night of the year, the restaurant had no heating. We sat through the entire meal in overcoats, and only took our gloves off because we couldn't handle a knife and fork with them on. The food stood no chance of staying hot in these conditions, and the red wine though chambred could not get above agout 6 degrees. No bread or rolls were offered, and presentation was poor( the bed of lettuce looked like an unmade bed)and side dishes were unaffordable, onion rings £3.90. The waitress who tried to be pleasant, told us that customers had been complaining about the cold for days but no-one would come to fix the heating.    [11 Dec 2002 11:49:45]
