No advertisement for Indian Cuisine This over-bright restaurant is blessed with a bizarre mixture of Indian and western musak, mercifully at fairly low volume, punctuated by customers mobile telephones.Service was slow, despite a plethora of staff, and the food was no better than average, and not even attractively presented [29 Dec 1999 17:06:32]

Change of Management Rings the Changes This used to be an unfortunately disappointing restaurant. It is still a bit slow in service, and the decor is typical flock stock. The food is now superb though, and definitely one of the best chefs in the area has lent a certain panache to the cuisine. We visit regularly. [23 Dec 2003 13:52:48]

Not Bad Have eaten twice in The Indian Ocean and the food was good, especially the Chiken Jalfrezie, just the right amount of chilli/spice, hot enough but not too hot to ruin the flavour. Service was fine as our friend knew the manager, so that helped. Of all of the dishes ordered and there were a lot as there were 8 of us (including children) the only disappointment was the Bombay Potatoes, other than that everything was lovely. Final disappointment was no dessert menu!! And you know how us women love dessert!! A bit expensive compared to other Indian Restaurants. [21 Jan 2005 08:05:07]

Amazing My friends and I keep going back to this place! The staff are exceptionally friendly and unintimidating. The service is excellent. Food is to die for with very reasonable prices and perfect portion sizes.
I would recommend this restaurant for a casual dinner without any hesitation. [18 Jan 2007 11:03:09]

The Best In London, No Question The Lamb here is beyond belief - I never normally eat lamb in an Indian, but these guys cook it all day long so it's ultra tender. Always the right amount of spice - and unlike other curries around, you don't get that layer of oil on the top. Fantastic fish dishes and a mean Jalfrezi. Must have been 50 times now with countless people and only ever had a let down once - and that was only one out of five dishes. Try the Murgi Morisa - a spicy and smoky chicken dish invented by the long time Chef, Jack. Great staff, a very dry sense of humour which you will grow to love! [18 Feb 2007 12:39:54]

Try The Lamb Chop Achari! Fantastic. The best Indian restaurant in North London by a long way. Unusual dishes, and quite a variety. The lamb chop achari is amazing - I've never seen it elsewhere and it's worth the trip for that alone! [29 May 2007 15:38:14]
