The best curry house in central Nottingham
I discovered this restaurant by looking in the 1998 Good Curry Guide (edited by Pat Chapman) published by the Curry Club. It was listed as being in the top 100 curry houses in the country. I tried this restaurant and was very impressed, my friends and family have been going there ever since.

The food is truly excellent, the best Indian food that I have ever eaten. The dishes served always taste great.
When dining here the most popular dishes among my family and friends are the Paradise Balti and the Chandi Murghi Tikka. The Paradise Balti includes lamb, chicken and prawns; it is extremely nice. The Chandi Murghi Tikka is a true masterpiece; Marinaded chicken with a separate sauce, served with the restaurant's excellent Persian style rice.
This restaurant does an excellent Phall, a dish that is not only excruciatingly hot (as one would expect from a Phall) but also full of flavour.
One dish I discovered recently was an excellent side dish, the Sag Aloo Paneer. This dish consists of Spinach (Sag), Potatoes (Aloo) and Paneer (Indian Cheese) in a creamy sauce. This dish is very tasty indeed and has quickly become a favourite of mine.

The service at the Chand is always very good. When dining at this restaurant the staff is always polite and friendly.

The atmosphere is very nice in the Chand, the restaurant is fairly small and nicely decorated - nothing fancy, but a very nice atmosphere to dine in all the same.    [05 Mar 2002 19:42:20]

Having been to The Chand in the past with a couple of friends I decided to chose it as a venue to get together for my birthday 'meal out'. I let all my friends now that they could bring their own beer/wine (thus significantly reducing the cost of the final bill!)We had a table booked for 17 on a Friday eve and all had decent amount of room to sit, The Chand isn't what I'd call posh. but it is clean and adequate for a group of mates with lots to catch up on.The service was excellent, neither rushed nor too slow, we all received the dishes we'd ordered, (this meant a little wait for some but we then all ate together)The food was very tasty, those that wanted HOT got it but those that wanted spicy, without losing their taste buds,were well pleased. Out of 17 people, no one complained that their choice had been disappointing.. a recommendation in itself!I would recommend The Chand as place to go with a group of friends, I'd book if a large group, just ensures you get well seated and good service, you can expect excellent value,(especially taking your own alcohol) tasty curries.    [21 Apr 2007 05:31:50]
