Good Italian Food
We have visited this restaurant regularly for the last 3 years. Their menu is excellent, with varied and innovative dishes served. This restaurant is several steps above the lesser standard Italian restaurants that just serve up the same old tired favourites.    [28 Feb 2005 13:35:30]

Still Excellent
It has been a good three years since we last visited La Vecchia's. When something has been good in the past there often seems to be disappointment when you re-visit after a break.

Not so here. We dined on a fairly busy Saturday evening, the service was friendly and just at the right pace, the ambiance was (as ever) informal and relaxed and the food possibly even better than I remember it.

We went there to celebrate mine and a friend's birthdays. Tried the bruschetta, which was fresh and tasty. All of us ordered pasta dishes, which came in really huge serving plates. After my starter I could only finish 2/3rds of it! The prices were comparable to other generic Italian chains, but quality was very good. The only not-so-good thing about La Vecchia is that they refused to let us eat the birthday cake a friend bought for us, only that we could sing and blow out the candles. (!!!!) Sort of dampened the atmosphere after that. Their basis for this was that they provided desserts in the menu already. Have never ever met with such a policy before. Sheesh!    [30 Oct 2005 07:27:04]

Super Place
Only visited this place for the first time in February, but am going for the third time on Tuesday. The food is excellent and good value. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The décor and lighting are just right.    [04 May 2007 09:07:04]
