Good Food, Expensive Drinks
We visited on a Tuesday night, but despite this when we arrived at 8pm the restaurant was nearly full. We had booked for 16 people, but when we arrived we were given two tables for 8, spliting our group into two parts.

The first task was to order get our drinks from the bar, which at nearly £3 for a pint of Carling or £11 for a bottle of wine was a bit of a shock for what was meant to be a cheap evening. Luckly a Coke was less than £1 and there was plenty of free water (editor's note: Water Margin will now only supply filtered water, for about £1 per jug).

Then it was up to the buffet for the first of many trips. The range was outstanding, and everything was topped up regularly. There was even a selection of uncooked meat and seafood which you could take to be cooked as you waited.

As it is a buffet and you get your own drinks at the bar there was never any need to wait for a waitress, however they were all very efficient at clearing the used dishes so you could go up for another helping.

Overall, a commercialized restaurant with an outstanding range of food at a reasonable price, for the food at least.    [27 Apr 2004 20:48:18]

Chinese Food With A View
We travel over from the Isle of Wight twice a month to go to this exceptional restaurant over looking the Solent. The food is of a very high standard and a good selection to suit almost all palates is available. The price is excellent and the overall impression is very good. All in all a very worthwhile eating experience.    [27 Jan 2005 09:43:10]

Prepare To Roll Home!
What can i say about this place? Well as a frequent visitor to the local cinema (which by the way is probably the best we have ever been in, but I digress) we occasionally stop off here for an evening meal.

We almost always have gone on a monday night so it is never too busy which is a small favor as the layout of the restaurant is slightly akin to a school dinner hall (accoustics included) so i would imagine it could get quite noisy when its busy. This being one of my very few gripes the fact that the decor of the place is almost sterile with grey linolium flooring and exposed air conditioning vents.

The drinks as somebody has already been mentioned, are quite pricey there. However you can buy a big jug of mineral water for £1 which is favorable as its better drinking water than drinking fizzy drinks and stealing precious eating space.

The food selection is vast. There are most dishes present that you would find in your local chinese takeaway as well as some authentic selections. The thing that keeps on bringing me and my girlfriend back, however, is the satay chicken. It is the most moreish food I have ever tasted. The sauce goes with lots of other things as well as the accompaning meat product. Its gotten to the point now that we have actually considered begging the chef for a small vat of it to take home. That said there are so many things on show and if you dont like what there you can always pick some ingredients to make your own stir-fry.

The staff are always polite and they are very prompt at removing unused plates and cutlery.

Overall I would have to say the highlights of the selection are to numerous to count but I'll go out on a limb and say the aformentioned satay chicken, teryaki(have no idea if thats spelt right) noodles, pork with honey and crispy duck pancakes. If you are looking for a quiet, queint little restaurant to have a romantic evening in this is probably not the place to come to, but if you want good food and a good time (gunwharf offers loads of entertainment afterhours) this is highly reccomended.    [20 May 2005 12:19:56]

Chinese tastes so good there
The food was lovely. I went for a buffet lunch, it was so nice. They would make your own soup for you. All you can eat there was so much.    [02 Jun 2005 03:24:07]

What a bargain
The food is great and there is always something for everyone. In case that's not enough, you can still create your own from fresh meat, fish, veg and whatever else you can think of. An all round good meal.    [01 Feb 2006 11:40:41]

We did not like the way the customers were all packed in as sardines when two thirds of the restaurant was closed off. We clearly asked to be seated on our own and the waiter became very agitated at this request. We did not stay on this occasion.    [02 Nov 2006 13:31:06]
