An extremely friendly Italian restaurant. Pleasant surroundings, convivial and attentive staff, excellent daily "board" menu and a normal a la carte menu - the lobster is magic. Not the cheapest restaurant around but you get what you pay for - which, in this case, is a tremendous meal, selection of wines (Borollo ... sigh!) and looked after. The Peach Ice Cream is the best I've ever tasted and (for me) goes magnificently well with the Apple tartlet.
For those old timers (over 45 or so - I'm included!) who remember pudding wines (now called Desert Wines) there is a treat awaiting you too.
Just in case this is viewed as a promo-hype - I eat there at least once a month (usually twice monthly) and will continue to do so until (read "if") the quality goes down. I think that I'll be eating there as long as Roberto is cooking :)    []

I've been there four times and always enjoyed it. I've had fillet steak in various guises each time, although I've dallied over many other scrumptious items on offer. My wife is vegetarian, but they are quite happy to adapt pasta menus to suit. House wine (I'm a cheapskate) is £12 and very drinkable. Service is excellent, and the staff the same – can't do enough for you. It is a little bit expensive, but compared to many other places in a similar price bracket it offers excellent value. Proper table linen, no cover charge for the olives and bread and all the coffee you want for £1.75. GREAT.    [30 Mar 2005 07:09:51]

Recommended Dishes: They all looked great, but I loved the pepper steaks
