Best of the Pizza chains! Just like every other Pizza Express - serves good value, good quality pizza in nice surroundings. Fresh flowers on every table. The real weakness is the poor choice of starters including garlic bread which is the same dough as you'll be eating with the pizza, or the dough balls again using the same dough. Good in the summer Pizza Express are trying harder - the pizzas got larger in early 2003 and there's a couple of new ones on the menu. This branch maintains the chain standard with good friendly service. If you want to eat and run, they can move quickly, or if you'd rather linger then they're fine with that too.
As well as the limited starters, it's a very limited pudding menu too. Cheesecake, icecream or tiramisu is about it. But who went to a pizza place for pudding?
Best feature: they have a large glass wall at the front which they open with tables on the pavement in the summer. Very pleasant of an evening to sit there with a beer. [17 Apr 2003 03:48:27]
