it's good but could be better... I've not eaten in a restaurant for a while that has put so much though into it's food. Sometimes too much though- the John Dory I had was overpowered by the accompanying fennel, that was disappointing. Otherwise an unforgetable experience. [13 Feb 2006 05:57:08]

The best food so far in Scotland. Each dish was well planned and properly balanced in flavo4r. Many accolades!! Of course, the sea scallops of this area are just superb, but the magic is in the preparation. [25 Jun 2006 21:25:49]

Too many yummy flavours! The food is wonderful, if you want a tasting of what high-class french menus offer, but for the hybrid idea of scottish and french, there are too many flavours. the result? there is no simplicity, in what is already a complicatyed idea - putting two cultures together.

Too many flavours there are too many overcomplicated dishes for my taste.I found myself wondering what flavour was being overpowered by which fennel, which anise, or which jus. Simplify!!! [08 Jul 2007 18:02:26]
