Truly King of the Baltis This is "the" restaurant for Indian balti meals in Cardiff. It is always busy with a lively, casual atmosphere. [02 May 2001 12:02:37]

Foodie
Second best Indian restaurant (after Juboraj). Reasonable prices and a nice atmosphere with appropriate music. It gets very busy at the weekends. [21 May 2002 04:33:53]

Superb Wednesday Banquet If you're looking for an excellent mid-week event, I can highly recommend the Wednesday banquet.
For around £8 you can choose from a vast selection of Indian, Pakistani and south-east Asian dishes. Unlike some all-you-can-eat places that offer a limited buffet, the King Balti offers a fantastic array of delicious dishes.
Fresh dishes are frequently dispatched from the kitchen onto a long double layered table from which you can serve yourself with as little or as much as you like. Dishes are all clearly marked with chefs assisting you by explaining the content of each dish. An even mix of meat and vegetable dishes are available with a selection of different rices and noodles giving a wide choice to all palates.
Warm and friendly staff greet you and direct you to the waiting area whilst your table is prepared. Seated around a table made of a broad and solid tree trunk the evening is guaranteed to begin well. Friendly and enthusiastic staff serve pleasantly complementing arrays of alcoholic and soft drinks from a fully licenced bar.
On my first visit I caught a glimpse in the eyes of many of the diners that suggested that they had visited parts of central and south-east Asia and were enjoying a magically nostalgic experience.
With the friendly staff, warm smiles of the other diners and soft music I could half close my eyes and imagine the roof replaced by bamboo and weaved coconut palm leaves and once again I was relaxing in a beachside restaurant in Goa. This bought a tear to my eye and secured within my mind a special moment that I hope others can enjoy. [21 Jun 2003 09:14:28]
