A Gem Hidden in Full View
My wife and I had been living in Neath for nearly 4 years and were quite happy with the area in general. We did however lament the lack of a decent restaurant outside of Swansea. My wife suggested we ought to try Remos last year after reading that it was a brasserie and not a wine bar as we had assumed.

We were quite frankly besotted with the place immediately. The building itself has huge character with seating on two floors and a huge open roof space where the 3rd floor was. The welcome was warm without being suffocating and the menu typical of a brasserie with a decent selection of meat and seafood dishes. We have tried most of the menu in subsequent visits and have always been impressed.

The wine list is good as far as I'm aware (we are the "know what we like" variety of wine buff) and we usually plump for the Siglo - it's never let us down yet.    [26 Jan 2005 10:38:07]

best steak in town
It's no secret that it is difficult to get a decent steak in Neath and I for one would rather eat at home than at a chain pub/restaurant. I have now been a regular customer at Remo's for the past 3 years and can tell you without a doubt they have the best cuts of beef in the area always cooked to perfection and this is just one of the things this delightful restaurant has to offer.

Remo’s has a large varied menu including prime cuts of beef lamb pork duck veal chicken & turkey assorted fresh fish salmon cod Dover sole sea bass and hake all at a reasonable price. Romantic lighting, great décor, wooden flooring, large pillars and patriotic paintings & pictures. There is also a hatch where you can see the chef hard at work.    [31 Dec 2006 19:54:50]
