Like New York in the New South
This place is under new ownership and management of Chef Ted Nobles. Some menu items remain the same (but better) and new ones added. The art deco building oozes romance lit with hundreds of candles that makes dining a pleasurable experience. The Olive Room, under new ownership, has become one of the best restaurants in the South. The decor (art deco) wraps itself around you as you enter the door. Surprises are everywhere from the almost hidden, round, padded walled "Pit" private dining area to the men's room with an amazing "waterfall" urinal, this place is an experience.

The food has much inproved under Ted Nobles. New dishes and specials are added to the Medeterranian menu. My favorite is the Veal Shank (to die for) and don't leave without trying the Chocolate Bread Pudding.

The staff is well experienced, knowledgable and courteous. If you are a local, all you need to do is look around at the patrons and you will be aware of the quality of food and service.    [10 Dec 2004 14:15:23]
