Best in Pell City Cafe Avanti has the best steak, seafood, and spirits in Pell City, AL. I only wish they had Seafood Portifino (like the Olive Garden has.) That would make it absolutely perfect. Love Cafe Avanti. [30 Aug 2005 15:25:30]

2 Hours For An Entree We waited almost 2 hours for our entree. Our reservations were at 6:15 and meal arrived at 7:50. Folks next to us waited over 2 hours. A third table walked out after an hour. When they arrived, some entrees were warm, some were cold, none were hot. They offered us a free dessert! We declined because we didn't have another hour to wait. I tipped another waitress because ours only visited our table every 20-30 minutes. Believe me, the place is not that big! Spoke to the owner on the way out and all she could say was I'm sorry. I told her we ate there at least monthly but we wouldn't be back. Our friends who eat there more often had the same experience the time before last. It's really a shame because it used to be a great restaurant. If you want to eat there do it quickly, with this kind of service it won't be there next year! [18 Mar 2006 22:28:20]

Great food, slow service LOVE the food!! The best, softest bread rolls. Great pizza, pastas and salads. The best place to eat in Pell City. Nice atmosphere - exotic fish in tanks to keep you occupied while you wait for your food. Our waitress was a little slow and didn't refill drinks quickly, but overall a good dining experience. Hidden Surprise Competes well with Italian restaurants in larger cities in food and service, but it's still laidback enough to feel like a neighborhood restaurant. I wish the area had more restaurants of this quality. [09 Jun 2006 13:55:51]

Terrible service Arrived at 6:00, entree arrived at 7:45. Cheaply done atmosphere. Food was OK. I've had worse, I've had better. Will not be back. [28 Jan 2007 21:19:59]

Ridiculously slow service, usually good food I've never waited longer for a meal. When queried, the server stated that they "make our money on cocktails, so (they) allow plenty of time for people to drink". Meal, when delivered, was excellent, but had to wait (again) for accompaniments. We did get a complimentary cup of soup (it ws 94 degrees outside).... A three hour dinner just isn't worh it in Pell City. While we will return (there are few other options in the area), it's certainly not worth the wait. [31 Jul 2007 15:58:18]

Pleasant Fine Dining Experience Excellent evening of fine dining. All entree's are cooked to order. A divine atmosphere and excellent service. [07 Aug 2007 17:12:48]

Good food, good personnel Am a two a month client. Recent experiences involved good wait staff, inconsistent drink sizes (alcohol) drinks. The restaurant should be consistent in the size and shape of glass wear for speciality drinks. Recently increased prices and reduced portion sizes on side salad which used to be very good. Now the salad appears to be from a food market packaged source. Entree's, however, are always great. Their rib eye steak has great taste and are always tender. Prices have increase almost 20 percent.
Still think the restaurant is a good place for fine dining. Good place to take visitors for an unusally good meal in this small town. [28 Aug 2007 21:28:51]
