Best Around One of my all time favorite steak places. I actually make it a point to eat here anytime I pass by. Atmosphere, service, quality, quantity, and price are all great. I love Buck's!
I highly recommend the steak tips and the fillet. The fillet is so tender- well, it matches the menu- "For those who are hungry but too lazy to chew." [09 Apr 2007 10:19:02]

Most Overrated Restaurant Ever! I've been to Buck's Place twice and both times were very disappointing. The first time I ordered chicken because the steaks were so overpriced; the chicken was dry and tasteless but the service was what really got me steamed. The restaurant was practically empty, even though this was on a Friday night (which should have been a warning), but our waitress took forever to come to the table and was MIA for most of the meal and took eons to bring things when she bothered to show up. If they'd been as busy as any normal restaurant would be on a weekend it would be understandable, but there were only a few other customers so what was the problem?
My second visit was nearly as bad. This time my wife and I went to Buck's Place on a Saturday evening and the place was still almost empty! Country's Barbecue next door was full and so was every other restaurant in town, but not "Guaranteed good ten times out of ten" Buck's Place! I ordered a hamburger steak because I was now leary of the quality of the food there so I couldn't make myself pay their outrageous prices for a steak that might not be any good, but these people don't even know what a real hamburger steak is! Not only does it not come with either onions or gravy (sacrilege in the south) but they don't even have them! That's right, NO onions OR gravy for a hamburger steak. In the south. To my surprise it was actually good, with ketchup. My wife ordered beef tips with none of the signature "gunpowder seasoning" and she ordered it well done. I can't say that the resulting dried-out, tough jerky was entirely the restaurant's fault, but it was absolutely tasteless. No charcoal flavor of any kind, as if it were just scraped out of an oven by people who'd never tasted a steak before. My wife sent it back because it was so tough, which I thought was more her fault than Buck's, but the replacement order wasn't much better and it still didn't have any taste. To their credit, Buck's Place didn't charge us for our meal, which was very nice considering the way my wife ordered her food, and the service this time was very good. Even though this time was mostly better I still have no plans to go back to Buck's Place again. Everybody kept telling me how great Buck's Place was but the emptiness of their restaurant tells me that I'm not the only one to see how overrated and overpriced they are. [20 Jul 2007 10:59:14]
