Not the Best Food- The food was good, but not what I would consider to be "great" given the Chef's reputation.
Service- This was the worst part of the experience. My daughter and I were in the area of the restaurant, and decided to stop in and try the food. We noticed there were only a few customers in the restaurant, but were immediately asked if we had a reservation. We said no, but the waiter said that was OK, and seated us. It took a while for the waiter to get back with us to see if we wanted something to drink. We asked for water, and were then told that the water was up at the counter, along with plastic cups. So I went to the counter and got some water.
We got to order about 10 minutes later. While we were waiting for the food, a person came in and sat down. The waiter asked him if he had a reservation, and this person basically ran out of the restaurant. We had our meal, and as I was paying, I was told “Just so you know, Chef Christopher usually likes reservations”.
Ambiance Set up like someone’s living room, attempts to be like home, but actually is very cluttered.
Overall: I would not eat at this place again. The waiter should be fired- he lacks people skills, and projects and image of snobbery. My daughter felt uncomfortable right away and wanted to leave.
Maybe that is the image they want to project, that they are doing you a big favor for allowing you to eat in their restaurant. Not sure how the plastic water glasses play into this high cuisine. [09 Feb 2007 13:57:28]
