The large and vaguely upscale C-Fu does specialize in seafood, and it's some of the freshest and best in town. - CitySearch, Nikki Buchanan - suggest change

C-Fu is the best? The Valley is in trouble I ordered a variety of dishes from C-Fu's internet site, and was looking forward to eating what many consider the Valley's "best Chinese". After placing my order for soft shell crabs, lobster tail, and various other rice and seafood samplers, I was told it would be 20 minutes and my order would be ready. Arriving 25 minutes later, I found out that my order had not even begun being processed. I'm understanding of things going wrong, so I opted to bite my lip and let them make my dishes a bit later. 20 minutes later, I was informed there were no soft shell crabs. I had already paid for my order (upwards of $60) and was asked to choose something similar in price, so I went for the Dungeness crab. 10 more minutes went by, and an older lady came and asked me to pay an extra $10 since the lobster they had was slightly heavier than they expected. So I shelled out the cash for it...this was, after all, the "best Chinese" in the Valley. An hour came and went from my placing my order online, and I was still waiting. Other people came and went (this was 5pm on a Thursday) and myself and my son sat and sat and sat. Finally, 90 minutes after arriving (2 hours almost after placing the order) I was given the food, and drove home. That's when it got real bad.
It was horrible-there was a coating of slime on the lobster, the food altogether was devoid of ANY taste but watered down yuk, and the crab was absolutely unpalatable.
I've had bad food, and believe me, this wasn't even bad Chinese. This was just pure junk.
I called to complain, and the woman I spoke with copped an attitude! I spoke with the "owner" and he said he'd bring out a new dish..I immediatley called back and told him to forget it, there's no way I want to eat any more of this. He became very curt, and hung up in mid-sentance.
There is absolutely no way, that after spending $70+, 2 hours, and all that attitude and lack of customer service (after all, I'm calm and cool since I don't want spit in my food!) that I would EVER reccomend C-Fu.
Just a sorry excuse for a resturant, and some SORRY food...ugh. [10 Jul 2004 14:10:50]
