Whether you crave lunch or dinner, that tastes like your mum used to make, or take a trip to the pub, where you can quench your thirst with a glass of the tap beer or single-malt wiskey, George and Dragon has it all. - AccessArizona, Chef Geoff; Review - suggest change

Terrible
We entered the George and Dragon @ 5pm last night and went into the restaurant section as we were on our way to see a show and wanted a nice drink and meal before we went. We were the 2nd table seated in there. Our waitress took our drinks order, spilling them on the table as she abruptly put the glasses down and said she'd be back for our dinner order. We did not see her again and in the meantime another 5 or 6 table filled up and a new waitress came in. She obviously wasn't told who was who in there and proceeded to take orders. Low & behold our order went in last and we sat and watched everyone else eat. She came out and apologized that one of the meals couldn't be served so my husband said to forget it and just serve the other three. We got our food @ 6:40pm!

Our waitress was doing everything that she could but it's hard for one person to run a dining area as well as barmaid it at the same time.

On our way out my husband told the manager and he gave no empathy to the situation at all, in fact he just simply didn't care. He said this is the busiest Sunday they've had in a long time like that was OK? I didn't see him out there making sure food was being delivered or even offering apologizes to the customers. A British band was playing at the Dodge Theater that night, wouldn't that tell you that there might be a few Brits around and to get some extra help just in case????

I don't think we will be going back there again and we certainly wont be recommending it to anyone.    [19 Sep 2005 17:46:38]

It's A Cool Place For A Beer.
Honestly, I didn't like the food that I had the first time I went there but when I get a chance to go back I'll try the pasty. We make it at home all the time. I thought it was something that my grandma made up, but I'd love to compare it because I have never had pasty at a restaurant.

The second time I went there I just had a couple of beers. One good note is that they have Paulaner Hefeweizen which is one of my favorites, but it was served in a pint glass when Hefe should be served in a tall specially shaped glass with a slice of lemon and a grain of rice. They have tons of different kinds of beer available from so many countries. If you like beer, you'll find several that you'll like there. If you don't like beer they have mixed drinks and plenty of things to do even if you don't drink. They do get pretty busy though so you might have to wait a few minutes but it isn't a long wait.

The atmosphere is nice and comfy. Some of the tables are pretty wobbly, so watch your beer or it will spill because they do fill the glasses to the top. It is pretty smoky. They have pool tables, a jukebox and a large wrap-around bar to sit at. I don't love it. I don't hate it. It is just a cool place to hang out with friends when you want to relax and have a beer.    [02 Mar 2007 23:06:58]
