Description
An American diner decorated with a UFO theme. The walls inside are adorned with over 100 photos of UFOs. The menu lists familar looking items such as burgers and steaks but gives them space alien names. The lighting and music adds to the UFO theme.

Casual, low-key, family diner. My husband and I visited Red Planet on a weekend during mid-afternoon and every seat was taken - seemed like a favorite place for locals. We had a short wait. The theme is creative but cheesy - probably a fun place for kids to experience. Our server was attentive and friendly. A good place for burgers and milkshakes. Flip flops and t-shirts OK! Kitchy decor, crummy food This was a fun place to see, but the food was way below par. (From the planet Tasteless?). Kids liked the alien decor and spaceship fountain out front. But nobody finished their bland, dry burgers. Also, service was pretty unattentive that night, and waitress didn't seem to care when we complained about food quality. [26 Oct 2005 11:49:59]

Large Dinner Menu, Food Good Science fiction theme throughout. Service varies from superb to inexperienced to downright puzzling. In my three visits there, the food quality was excellent. The philly was huge, the vegetarian lasagna was very well prepared, and the smoothies are inventive (order off the drinks menu for smoothies like "Captain Kirk's Enterprise"). Onion rings were crisp and done to perfection. I haven't given an ambiance rating because the descriptions do not fit the eclectic decor. Also, the place has very nice views of Sedona's gorgeous red rocks. [04 Jan 2006 13:40:25]
