Fresh and Tender, Right Off Your Fender
Personality overflow in this quaint, yet charachter filled road side establishment. The help is friendly and the food is obscenely delightful. Small town restaurant in a one buffalo town. I say make the stop. And if nothing else, the carved naked lady bar post is worth the stop. Oh, and don't forget to leave a dollar with your signature stapled to the bar before you go.    [02 Oct 2003 18:04:54]

STOP AT OWN RISK
I had the misfortune to stay at the Historic Route 66 Motel in August of 2003 and "eat" at the Road Kill Cafe. These were two of the worst places I have ever visited and I have been in some bad places before in my 50 years. The food was the absolute worst I had ever eaten.

The service was non-existent. There were 3 other tables with customers and it took 45 minutes to be waited on. The "world famous" honey stung chicken might have been good if they had remembered to include the chicken and honey when cooking it. The "fresh" vegetables were so fresh, part of the Lesuer label was still in the English peas.

The ambiance consisted of locals changing their kid's dirty diapers on the table next to mine.

The service included self serve deserts from the "delicious" selection of store bought cakes and pies, due to the fact the waitress said she was too short to reach them. The ratings listed are too kind because I had to choose from a set list.    [08 Jan 2006 14:40:20]

great breakfast
Leaving Flagstaff, the wife decided we had to eat breakfast somewhere on 66. The Roadkill was the first place we came to, lucky for us. Huge servings, and reasonable, the three egg omelet and hash browns were huge, would definitely go back.    [15 Jun 2006 16:45:31]

Enjoyed every minute of it...
I had the pleasure of eating at the Road Kill Cafe after I stumbled upon it driving back to Ontario, Ca.

The service was excellent which even included jokes from the serving staff. The food was surprisingly great. I absolutely loved the bar area. Even though it was closed you were able to walk on that side and see all the memorabilia and the wildlife scenery was done very well.

I am heading in that area again this weekend and Road Kill Cafe will be my stop. Im actually driving from Ontario, Ca just to go eat at this place again...that should tell you how good the food was.

The comment about the diapers and such...I'm not too sure about that. The place does get kind of packed at certain times and is the hot spot for bikers but I don't think they would alow that kind of low budget class to be done in there.

Service, Food and Atmosphere is great!    [07 Sep 2006 11:41:01]

You Kill It, We Grill It!
With selections like "Elk Melt" & "Muck of Duck" & sayings like "They always surrender when they're stuck on the fender", how could you not expect great things!?
The surroundings are rustic and the wildlife displayed around the place are awesome. Service was friendly and very helpful when recommending dishes. Not that one dish was better than another. Several of us have dined at the Road Kill in the last couple of months and no one has ever been disappointed. I recommend the delicious trout and the fresh and delectable salad bar. Delightful ambiance and food was brought hot and in very healthy portions. Did not have any problems getting refills or in asking for food prepared a different way.

As of now, (Nov. 2006) there is only the Road Kill and Westside Lilo's for restaurants in Seligman. Make the right choice and head in to the Road Kill!!!    [28 Nov 2006 12:08:21]
