Fast and Tasty (and reasonably priced)! Well, today Tucson's Local couple stopped in Pico de Gallo for lunch. Looking over the menu, we found that the vegetarian burro was the only item that's meets our dietary habits. After ordering a couple at the counter along with iced tea, we quickly found a table in the quieter area of the restaurant to chat with our dining companion and await our meal.
Within ten minutes we were called up to the counter to pick up our two freshly made burros. Each plate had a side of lightly pickled carrots and purple onions which neither of us had encountered elsewhere; one-half of the Local Couple found them to be pretty good, the other half doesn't really care for pickled food so they weren't as keen on 'em.
Overall, the burro was good, and a reasonable size, especially considering they had cost all of $3.50. Besides they were just the right size for lunch; we didn't feel bloated afterwards and we were able to return to work without that lingering desire for a nap.
A final note, the hot sauce on the table is good; make sure to try it, but go easy if you don't like that nice burning sensation in your mouth. [06 Aug 2003 21:27:16]

Worth the Trip! After seeing the brief piece on Food TVs "Hot and Spicy-Bon Apetit" show I penciled this place among others also seen as possible venues for our Phoenix trip. After a few days there, we ventured the 2 hours southeast to Tuscon and eventually found the TPDG as advertised.
It was among many other enticing Mexican and Tex-Mex places in South Tuscon, but we had our destination already in mind.
We loved it. The food was authenic and had more variety than on FTV. We also loved the hospitality of the proprietor and staff.
We will be back!!! [20 Aug 2004 02:12:30]
