Saturday 7/30/04. Party of 7 waited over 1 hour and asked manager when we could be seated and was informed that parties of 2 and 4 were easier to seat and that they get to us when they could. Meanwhile, people that came in after us in parties of 5 and 8 were seated, and the manager himself was setting up tables for a party of 17. The party of 17 prompted me to ask how long it would be before we were seated as this party had arrived approx. 10 minutes prior.

I then walked back into the seating area and there were empty tables already set up that would accomodate our party. I asked the manager again if he were the manager and why these tables were not being utilized. If the manager had trained his people properly, they may have asked our party to split up into a 4 and 3 and we could have been served within minutes of arrival. He replied that he was busy. I told the manager that he had better learn how to run his business before he drove it into the ground.

Now following the "rule of upset customers", I will go out of my way to tell everyone I know to drive past IHOP to another place and not to patronize IHOP. We used to be a regular customer and it now ended because of one incompetent manager. [Submitted 31 Jul 2004]    [02 Oct 2006 12:03:20]
