Service Poor Poor Poor This past Saturday, I brought a friend of mine that was visiting from England to Tubac to shop and have lunch. We attempted to have lunch at Tosh’s Hacienda and it was an awful experience.
We arrived at 11:55 AM and it was quite busy, however we were immediately seated. Finally at 12:15 someone came by to take our drink order and then promptly disappeared. At 12:30, we tracked down the waiter and he said he would bring the drinks right over. At 12:40, after still not receiving the drinks and unable to locate the waiter, we asked the hostess to speak to the Manager. The Manager came over and was unbelievably rude. Instead of apologizing and agreeing to get our drinks (we still had not ordered our lunch) she told us they were very busy and that we would have to wait. When we told her we understood that they were busy, but felt that 40 minutes without getting our drink order or being able to find our waiter seemed a bit excessive, she then became very rude and defensive, and told us that apparently we were not “listening” to her, and then again proceeded to tell us how busy they were. No apology, just rudeness on her part. She then became huffy and said if we could not wait she would get our drinks and stormed off. At that point, we got up and told her to keep her drinks and promptly left the restaurant.
Now, I can certainly understand and be patient when a restaurant is busy, however the time we waited was a bit excessive. Moreover, I cannot and will not tolerate that type of rudeness from a business establishment and in particular the manager, whom is supposed to be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction.
We then headed over to Shelby’s Bistro and were treated like welcome guests and had a marvelous lunch in an inviting and pleasant atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our day in Tubac with the exception of the experience at Tosh’s.
My friend indicated that she would expect the type of service we received at Tosh’s in England, but never in the US.
I will never step foot into that establishment again and will be sure to tell everyone what a terrible experience it was. [09 May 2002 14:36:26]

We ate there twice in one week My family ate at Tosh's twice in one week for lunch. We all really enjoyed our food both times. The first time we were seated immediately. The second time we had a 15 minute wait for outside seating. The flies were terrible on the patio, but we did enjoy our food. It is our favorite restaurant in Tubac. [20 Oct 2002 00:49:42]

Great! I was visiting my parents in Tucson and we took a day trip to Tubac. We stopped for lunch at Tosh's. The food was excellent and the margarita was the best I've ever had. I live in New York and have access to the best restaurants in the world, but Tosh's was the best Mexican food and drinks I've ever had. I can't wait to go back! [20 Nov 2002 10:54:28]

Excellent While visiting our son and family in Sahaurita we went down to Tubac for dinner one night and we were very impressed with our evening. The food and drinks were very good. The service was the weakest point but was still adequate. The restaurant was full and very busy.
We look forward to returning on our next visit to the area.

Good Overall A Monday in February. Noon hour was busy but we got seated on the patio promptly. With the crowd we were still given good service. The Chimichanga was humongous, the Fajitas were also great, although they could have been a little bigger to hold the filling better. The margarita was excellent and a large was really LARGE. I would recommend it to anyone. [31 Mar 2003 11:46:52]

absolutely fabulous While my wife has had the pleasure of Tosh's in Tubac a number of times, I have only had the one visit. I now can appreciate what a great place it truly is. The food, the atmosphere, the hospitality - -- - -all were more than excellent. My only regret is that I live in Texas and will only be able to visit on rare occasions. Best chili relleno I've ever had! [24 Oct 2003 18:38:35]

More Poor, Poor, Service We live in Tucson and had stopped in Tubac on our way back from Mexico, We had my sister and niece with us from Ohio. We entered Tosh's and checked the menu, it looked great. We also checked the seating in the dining room, and it also looked inviting. We told the hostess we would like a table for 4, and were taken thru the dining room, thru some type of gift shop, up some stairs into a extremely warm (temperature wise), bleak dining room. We were seated next to a table with 3 toddlers in attendance and when I asked the hostess if we could please move to the front dining room, I was told, very rudely, that there were children there too. Our waitress, I could not tell you her name because she did not offer it, was not friendly at all, and moved very slow.
Although the food was good there, we will not be taking any guests there again. [05 Apr 2004 19:01:47]
