eclectic pizza for president Eclectic Pizza is my first stop in Tucson as soon as I get off the plane at TUS. I'm in the Midwest, and out here, we are light years behind what eclectic is doing for pizza. Their Mediterranean pizza (I think it's called the Yucatan) with hummus and spring salad on it is incredible. I have been willing to try the unusual from this restaurant because they never disappoint. The Thai Curry is sublime, too! And their service is right on time, friendly, helpful. The staff is quick and happy, and glad to see each customer who walks in the door.
Lastly, don't neglect their salad menu. Even if you're not much of a health-nut, the salads here are worth ordering because they're so tasty. Even the salad dressings (garlic feta is amazing!) blow my mind.
Here are my three favorite things from Eclectic pizza: 1. Thai Curry with Chicken. Add cilantro if you are a fan of cilantro and it only enhances the beauty of this dish. 2. The Old Town Classic. How can cheese and tomatoes taste like that??? SO GOOD! 3. House salad with garlic feta. If you're not so keen on heavy garlic, then the sweet poppy seed dressing is terrific.
The last thing I'd add is that they offer gluten free pizzas, which no one east of Albuquerque has even heard of yet. Eclectic is progressive but not at all pretentious. [25 Feb 2009 10:30:26]
