Good Food and Great Deserts!
We stopped in Enoteca for dinner on one of our weekly forays into downtown Tucson. At the time they had just been open at this new location about two weeks, so we thought that there might be a few minor kinks that needed working out. As you'll read, there were a few, but nothing major.

Ordering a flight of red wine (three 2oz samples) and a couple of pizzas, one of us headed over to the desert case to see what looked good for after dinner.

Our pizzas arrived (a Margarita with basil, red sauce, and cheese, and a Vesuvius with carmelized onions, artichokes, and cheese) and we tucked in. Both were very good, but I think that we both decided that the Margarita was the better of the two, and that it would have been even better with a bit more red sauce. Oddly, the other pizza arrived unsliced, but we managed just fine.

Saving half of the pizzas to take home, we returned to check out the desert case. Wow! there must have been close to two dozen different choices. We settled on a layered chocolate mousse, and a creme brulee cheese cake. Both were excellent, neither too sweet or too heavy, these are what deserts should be.

We did have one complaint, Enoteca can be a bit on the loud side with a lot of noise echoing off the walls and ceilings. Don't let that stop you from at least trying it; it'll be worth it.    [26 Jan 2004 13:10:01]

Cozy with excellent service
Was staying at the Hotel Arizona across the street and decided to walk over to try Enoteca for dinner one night. It's a small restaurant, with a small bar, serving only wine and beer. I was immediately made to feel comfortable and welcomed. I had the pasta special, and it was so delicious! Great food, but even better friendly ambiance for the business traveller.    [27 May 2006 16:59:38]

Good Music, Pizza and Ambiance
Having stopped down to Phoenix, AZ from New York in order to see my daughter graduate from high school, I again took a side trip down to the Desert Museum in Tucson for the first time the last week in May 2006, and stopped at Enoteca for a meal.

After looking at the menu, the waiter told me the Metropolitan Pizza was good. We ordered this and our toppings and were pleased with our selection. I liked the wine I ordered along with the entertainment.

There was a Brazilian guitar player playing 'The Girl from Ipanema' up front. Music selections that played there were also mellow and ethereal.

My kids were also pleased. I recommend it. Owner was very affable.    [03 Jun 2006 22:43:38]

Great pizza, canned olives
Enoteca has great pizza at an affordable price.

Be careful about ordering any pizza with smoked mozzerella and goat cheese though, it's almost all smoked mozzerella, which is a bit overpowering.

We were there on a Friday night and I ordered a flight of 3, 2oz glasses of wine, as advertised on their menu. To my surprise, the waitress said that they weren't serving flights because they were busy and didn't want to run out of glasses. However, the restaurant was only 3/4 full and had no line. Also, they use cheap canned olives. I hope they switch to quality olives and offer the wine flights as they advertise.

Otherwise, the service was prompt and polite, and the pizza was delicious.    [22 Dec 2006 19:16:19]
