Different, but not that great
The decor is eclectic with mint green walls, dark wood chairs, brushed metal kitchen doors and bar, and richly colored paintings of large people. Someone brought us pita chips and hummus before we even ordered which was a little odd and several seemingly random people came by and asked us how we liked everything but other than that the service was ok.

As for the food, it can be summed up in two words: butter and salt. The pita chips were buttery and still soft in the middle, my butternut squash soup was buttery, and my greek salad was very salty with more of the buttery pita chips. The salmon dish was also buttery. The one thing I liked was the hummus. The menu is rather small and they were out of the dish I originally wanted, the gnocchi.    [10 Dec 2005 18:33:44]

Good first experience
I went with a group for lunch. Service was a little slow, but drinks were served with pita and hummus. My order was confused (I ordered tuna & got a tuna salad sandwich) but promptly corrected.

There were separate menu folders for lunch & dinner items, which caused the mixup. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the waitstaff was perhaps inexperienced, but most diners in the group were pleased with their food.    [19 Oct 2006 09:54:27]

Subtle and wonderful food
I've been to Raz several times for lunch. Care is taken with every dish, both in presentation and flavor. The Israeli Couscous was subtle but scrumptious. Of all the menu items, only the gnocchi was disappointing, everything else was superb. The desserts are decadent.    [17 Apr 2007 19:13:45]
