German bier does not alone make a German restaurant. Recently I had dinner at this establishment and found the experiance quite different from what everyone was telling us it would be. The atmosphere looked like it used to be a former Chinese restaurant that had just taken the dragons off the wall and in its place they hung up some German memorabilia. The wine we had was OK but the waitress switched my Chardonnay with my wifes Reisling. The German salad with the dinner was not Romaine lettuce with hot bacon dressing but cucumbers and tomato slices. The German roll/bread that came before the meal was a stale hamburger bun. Yes, that's right. The spaetzel had a funny, slightly sweet taste that I was not use too. We think that it may have been nutmeg. My wifes Jaegerschnitz was made with canned mushrooms not fresh and the three eggs on my Schnitzel ala Holstein were a little burnt on the bottom. All for the price of $45, including drinks (two).
