End of an era? My grandmother and grandfather opened the Chateau Basque Restaurant some 30 odd years ago. My grandfather passed away a few years ago and now my grandmother is very ill. The restaurant is supposed to be turned over to my mother who has been doing all the cooking for sometime. I will help out as much as I can, but I work full time as a Border Patrol Agent and times are tough finacially with the restaurant ans we might have to relocate or close. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommended that you try my family's restaurant before it possibly closes down. It just may be the best unknown place that has been around for two decades. Awesome food My wife and I recieved a gift certificate to this restaurant for our anniversary. It is located off the beaten path. Don't be fooled by the exterior of the building. The inside is beautifully decorated. The service was outstanding and the food was perfect. We ordered the ribeye steaks and I have to say they were one of the best we had ever eaten. Do not.. I repeat Do not come to this place on a half full stomach. They give you so much food ( And I can eat alot) that I couldn't finish it all even after I had only had a few potato chips all day ( I too had been warned not to eat anything before going here). You have to try this place at least once. You'll be hooked. My wife and I look forward to eating there again in the near future. I really loved the shepherds stew and wish my wife could make that in between our trips to the restauraunt. [11 Sep 2006 23:34:12]
