The Last Frontier of the Independent Restaurant
La Pasta is one of the last restaurants in the Conejo Valley that stands independent in the increasingly corporate restaurant business world. The two waiter-co-owners and the one bartender are both jovial and efficient--what more could you expect from an Italian restaurant?

Seating about 50 people (guesstimate), it's a cozy establishment that's been open for more than 10 years, frequented by tried-and-true "usuals."

The dim-lit ambiance is provided by white Christmas lights, and the art on the walls isn't exactly Italian--but after all, we *are* in America, and even though it's not the most elegant place around, what it lacks in elegance, it makes up in service.

If you can deal without an $8 glass of wine, then it's a moderate blow to your wallet. Not expensive, not cheap--but well worth your time.    [07 Jan 2004 00:17:37]

If you want a place to call home, this is it. Food service is wonderful; prices are great. The owners have been together for over 14 years. They always welcome all, and they will close if you want a private party or reception    [04 Dec 2007 01:31:01]
