Authentic Flavor in Unlikely Hideaway Although out of view, Latigo Kid provides a dining experience that is to be remembered. With many deliciously authentic Mexican appetizers, dishes, and desserts, the restaurant surpasses the repetition on chain competitors (i.e. Chevy's). On any given day, the heat and the flavor of your food can vary. [22 Aug 2003 04:55:58]

Stay Away from The Latigo Kid Date of visit: 8/31/03 I can sum this establishment up in one word - horrible! The service was bad, the staff was unfriendly and the food was the worst I've had. I ordered chicken fajitas and the chicken was slimy and soft. It didn't taste like any chicken I've had. The server never checked to see if our meal was okay. I had to flag him down to complain and he didn't even seem to care. And when I explained to the manager what was wrong with my dish, he just looked at me like I was crazy and responded, "We won't charge you for the fajitas, but we'll have to charge you for the side dish." The side dish that consisted of a scoop of guacamole, a scoop of sour cream and some pico de gallo. Yeah, that was worth $6! I will never go there again and would advise anyone and everyone - stay away! [02 Sep 2003 13:58:05]

Good Authentic Mexican food I work right near the Latigo Kid, and they have excellent food. I eat there very regularly, and have never had a problem with service or any thing like the previous review. Excellent food, slightly steep prices, but worth it. [18 Sep 2003 19:19:13]

Best Mexican Food in the Thousand Oaks area I highly recommend Latigo Kid. They have great food there, from the soups to the main dishes; everything I've had there was very delicious. The service isn't that great, which is why I take out a lot...but the food is worth going for. By far, it's the best real Mexican Food (places like Sharkys and Baja Fresh don't count!) in the Thousand Oaks area. Run, don't walk! [09 Dec 2003 21:15:23]

Latigo Kid Rocks I have been going to Latigo for many years and have never had bad food or service. The prices are a bit steep but the food is excellent so it's worth it. [23 Sep 2004 14:12:04]

Wait in line They have been in business for a long time, and are not worried about going bust.... so attention to detail is lacking, food very average, service rushed, owners not concerned. [22 Aug 2007 17:18:35]

Best Fajitas I Ever Had I ordered the chicken fajitas -- it was the best tasting fajitas I ever had. Something magical in the sauce. Huge portions. Great, potent Cadillac Margarita too! The salsa for the chips was just okay. [20 Jan 2008 10:54:55]
